OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME Division
To provide hands-on training in plant biotechnology and basic plant tissue culture techniques to the students, so that they are better equipped to understand the commercial in vitro mass propagation.
As a dissertation/project work for M.Sc, Post M.Sc, B-tech students.
To college faculties /School teachers who could like to implement these techniques in their academic institution .
To generate awareness through specialized lectures regarding the latest scientific breakthrough in the field of biotechnology.
Eligibility
B.Sc /M.Sc Life sciences, B-tech students and other biological sciences.

COURSE FEE
The fee structure for one month course is Rs. 5000/ and for two month course is 10000/ only.
COURSE CURRICULUM
Introduction to the subject and its brief history
Laboratory Design: Study of Plant Tissue Culture laboratory.
Introduction to Laboratory equipments.
Preparation of media.
Collection of explants.
Aseptic culture technique and inoculation.
Microbiological Test.
Contamination control.
Establishment of cultures.
Meristem culture for virus free plants
Multiple shoot regeneration from shoot tips, multiplication by adventitious shoot.
Multiplication through callus culture, somatic embryogenesis.
Hardening technique and transfer of plantlets from lab to field.
Green House Management
Observations and Report writing, Culture Management and Laboratory management
Safety Protocol which deals with the safety protocol of the lab.
